With only three weeks left of summer, one of the worlds greenest cities, Vancouver is a bubbling place of excitement bursting with fun summer activities.
1) What's a better way to start a summer afternoon than with some dancing at Vancouver's Robson Square! This well kept summer secret has been going on for the past few months, but not to worry you still have time to get down at Robson Square with free lessons in dance, or you can just watch a few pros. There are only a few days left of this great free event, try it out August 16 (East Coast Swing), 23 (Cha Cha) and 30th (Viennese Waltz).
2) Don’t feel the pull of a theatre or movie screen on a Friday or Saturday night? Check out the Macmillan Space Centre where the observatory is open to the public at 8 pm for viewing.
3) If you haven’t already made your way to the botanical gardens at Van Dusen you have a limited amount of time left before this summer’s current exhibit is closed to the public. Touch Wood is a locally curated exhibit that connects people back to nature through installations of wooden art pieces. The exhibition showcases ten local artists, and will run until the end of September.
4) Stanley park is celebrating its 125th birthday! Like any great birthday, Stanley park is putting on one hell of a party for all of the Vancouver residents and tourists who will be around for the special event.
Opened as Vancouver’s first set green space in 1888, Stanley Park will be celebrating on August 24 & 25 with activities and shows for everyone. A live band stage will be situated at Second beach alongside a family stage featuring children’s events and First Nation’s arts and crafts. In addition to all the fun that is already planned there is also an active arena with games and a series of historic walks around the park all of which will be available to the public throughout the weekend.
Vancouver as bustling as it is, is also home to many traffic calmed, treed, quiet neighbourhoods that many families love and cherish. Being a top Vancouver Custom home builder continues to be a pleasure as we help families to further love their homes and enjoy their communities.
Wishing you all the best and hope to hear from you soon.
