Burnaby, where you can play this weekend!

Currently home to 4 of our Wallmark custom home construction sites, Burnaby is a happening place. With only weekends left before the kids return to school and the September breeze turns cool, here are a few ways for you and your family to enjoy a little stay-cation in Burnaby over the next few weeks:

This weekend: Blues and Roots Festival, starting at 12pm and going till 10pm, this day long festival includes a lengthy line-up of artists for your listening pleasure. With such artists as Blue Rodeo , David Gogo, The Sojourners, and ZZ Ward you can enjoy yourself the whole day through. Your family can enjoy themselves too with special children activities such as guitar making, face painting and other art activities.

Kensington Community Fair, competing with the Blues and Roots festival, this community fair starts at 10am and goes till 3pm. With a BBQ lunch, community displays, face painting crafts and games this is sure to be a good kick-start to a great Saturday!

For that rainy afternoon: Should it ever rain this summer again, or if you feel the need to get to know your community better, the Burnaby Village Museum and Burnaby Art gallery are some of the top places to seek out.

With different activities for each day, the Village Museum is open between 11am-4:30pm with free entry and even features a carousel ride! The Art Gallery is currently displaying its newest acquisitions until August 25th, for more details on the artists displayed click here.

For the outdoor soul: Burnaby offers lots of unique city parks for the city park adventurer. From the watery views of the Burrard Inlet at Barnet Marine Park and cityscape views from the top of Burnaby Mountain to the many cultural activities located at Deer Lake Park or the sports filled Central Park, Burnaby has something for everyone.
