Building permits represent the intent to build and are an excellent indicator of things to come, like a positive year in construction. As The Vancouver Sun stated on Friday, BC’s building permits are back on track from before the market crash, which means that we are looking forward to a busy year in BC’s construction, particularly in the Lower Mainland. With $4.4 billion in building permits, we are certainly up from the same period in 2009 where the value of permits only reached $2.9 billion, which shows a significant increase in confidence from builders and families alike.
From looking at the City of Burnaby’s and City of Coquitlam’s statistics online, builders and families are not only sticking to renovations but are investing in newly constructed single family homes. New single family homes, like the ones Wallmark Homes applies for, represent over half the permits issued so far this year! Click here to view the article!
