Well, it’s the middle of the summer and some stores have begun to bare the signs of “back to school”, but at Wallmark Custom Homes we encourage your thoughts to dwell on summer, at least for a few more weeks.
To help you soak up the most of summer and its long lingering evenings, we have compiled a list of fun activities for each city that we are lucky enough to be a part of as a custom home builder.
This week we start off with Maple Ridge, where for the past decade we have had the great pleasure to build many custom homes and communities for her residents, including our upcoming townhome community in Maple Ridge.

1) Haney’s Farmer’s Market
Love Farmer’s Markets? Well so does Maple Ridge! Haney’s Farmer’s market is open 7 months a year and boasts a whopping $1.6 million revenue it brings into the local economy.

2) Wild play playground in Maple Ridge
An outdoor playland, this Wild Play attraction has dozens of obstacles and courses for you and your family to enjoy at a height of 2-18m above the ground.
3) Hiking trails in Malcolm Knapp Research forest
Forests are open any time you feel that itch for a wilderness walk, but research forests like Malcolm Knapp are open from dawn to dusk. So what are you doing? Get out there and explore for an afternoon.
4) Honeyland – Tour a live bee colony!
Ever wanted to see how bees make honey? Got a few kids who are curious about everything science (or even yourself)? The Honeyland Bee Farm is just the place for you to enjoy a great afternoon in Maple Ridge, soaking in the rays and learning about honey making.
5) Country Fest at Albion fairgrounds (July 27th, 28th)
This weekend head to the Albion fairgrounds to enjoy the annual Country Fest at the Albion fairgrounds. There you will find a host of activities including (but certainly not limited to) 4-H shows, home arts & gardening and Fun-til-you're-done-Farm. Better still? The admission is Free!
6) Bard on the Bandstand
Want to watch a community production? One of the many community theatres around, Maple Ridge's Bard on the Bandstand presents Macbeth their last performance for the remainder of the summer for those of you who are theatre enthusiasts.
