4 Summer activities to enjoy in North Van

Much like the rest of the areas where Wallmark builds custom homes for the many families who come to us, North Vancouver is a wonderful blend of nature and urban life.

North Vancouver boasts a large selection of outdoor activities, from mountain biking, to hiking to spending a day in deep cove at the beach or down by Lynn valley river soaking in the rays with water lapping at your feet. Nevertheless here are even more summertime activities to help you soak up the sun of these last two weeks.

1) The fresh air cinema which features open air movies all over Metro Vancouver, has two upcoming family movies on August 15th and September 6th. This weekend the venue will be at Delbrook Park where you can bring your popcorn to enjoy the classical fairytale twist of Shrek. After the first week back to school for the kids you can treat them (and yourself) by bringing them down to Edgemont Village to enjoy The Croods.

2) Grouse mountain turbine –sure you’ve done the Grouse Grind, but have you been up the Grouse Turbine? Open until October 13, 2013 you can go up to the top of the turbine to take in 360 views of the city and natural surroundings.

3) To honour North Vancouver’s location to the great outdoors here are two more hiking trails for you and your family or friends to enjoy. The Cleveland Dam and the Lower Seymour Conservation Reservation both offer hikes and some non-traditional hiking views.

4) Don’t want to drive to Stanley Park for a stroll around the seawall? West Vancouver also boasts a shorter (1.5km) seawall perfect for an evening walk to take in the setting summer sun with an ice cream and later into September a cup of tea. Heck, it even has a specially fenced path for you to take your dog on a walk along the ocean too!
